Thomas M. Hitchcock, Ph.D. is a formally trained scientist with expertise in molecular genetics, microbiology, and dermatology. He has more than twenty years of research experience, including basic science, proof-of-concept, pre-clinical and clinical research across several therapeutic areas such as cardiology, oncology, gene therapy, plastic/facial plastic surgery, microbiology, dermatology, and aesthetic medicine.
Dr. Hitchcock earned his doctorate in Genetics from Clemson University where he studied DNA damage and repair in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. After receiving his doctorate, he completed post-doctoral trainings at Duke University and Yale University in Biomedical Engineering, Vascular Biology and Therapeutics, where he researched cardiovascular tissue engineering methodologies. Doctor Hitchcock concluded his academic training at Weil Cornell Medical College studying multiple myeloma genetics.
Following his post-doctoral studies, Dr. Hitchcock began working in the field of dermatology, developing a body of research of which he has presented all over the world as well as published in noteworthy scientific journals and book chapters. He also received issuance on several patents for his inventions in aesthetic medicine, dermatology and microbiology.
In 2013, Dr. Hitchcock helped to found aesthetic device company Bellus Medical (now Crown Aesthetics) and served as the Acting Chief Scientific Officer until the acquisition by Crown Laboratories in 2018. He also Founded the biotechnology company Xycrobe Therapeutics Inc. in 2014 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until acquisition by Crown in 2019. At the time of publishing, Dr. Hitchcock currently serves as the Chief Science Officer for Crown Laboratories and oversees Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Biological Sciences (including Microbial Development) and Research & Development for Crown and its subsidiaries. Additionally he is and adjunct professor at Eastern Tennessee State University Medical School.
Doris Day, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in laser, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology in New York City, as well as a clinical associate professor of dermatology at New York University Langone Health.
A highly respected and sought-after media personality, she has been a frequent guest expert on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Good Morning America, The View, and the Dr. Oz Show, where she is on the medical advisory board. She has also appeared on 20/20, including a Barbara Walter Special on cutting-edge rejuvenation treatments, CNN, Today, Rachael Ray, and Dr. Oz. She has been quoted extensively in major women’s magazines such as InStyle, Allure, Vogue, Glamour, Redbook, Good Housekeeping, W, O, andCosmopolitan.
Dr. Day is the author of Beyond Beautiful: Using the Power of Your Mind and Aesthetic Breakthroughs to Look Naturally Young and Radiant, Forget the Facelift: Turn Back the Clock with Dr. Day’s Revolutionary Four-Step Program for Ageless Skin (Avery, 2005), which sold nearly 20,000 copies. She is a host for Doctor Radio on SiriusXM, an award-winning bi-monthly, two-hour call-in show.
Dr. Day graduated with a degree in English from Columbia University, and completed her master’s in journalism and science writing at New York University. She earned her MD at Downstate Medical School, New York and completed her residency in dermatology at Cornell University College of Medicine. She is a member the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the American Medical Association. She is a medical advisor for Christie Brinkley’s new product line focusing on UV and IR protection and skin rejuvenation.
